Inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's line, "I love her, and that's the beginning and end of everything," this reverse glass piece reflects on love as both a starting point and a destination. The quote's simple yet profound sentiment is reimagined through traditional signwriting and decorative glass gilding, transforming a literary phrase into a striking visual statement.
Set against a deep blue background, the design combines traditional signwriting, decorative flourishes, and celestial imagery, with stars and suns framing the central text. Multiple shades of gold leaf-including 23.5ct, 23ct, and 22ct gold-create depth and warmth throughout the piece, while mother of pearl details add subtle flashes of colour and light.
Presented in an ornate vintage gold frame, the work draws on the craftsmanship and elegance of historic reverse glass signage while bringing a timeless literary reference into a contemporary context.
