The boarded-up shop in the background used to sell hot chocolate, and I love the graffiti at the top - someone has written \"beer\" over the words 'We all love hot chocolate.' When working out the composition, I decided that I wanted to tease the viewer's eye down Back Turner Street, the side street visible in the painting. I wanted to suggest the wider area and imply that more is happening beyond the edge of the canvas.
